Results from July 5th's Balance Team Challenge

“And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!“

If that speech doesn’t rouse you to rise against the machine, then I don’t know what will. This week was a bit of a wacky one, with Independence Day here in the US landing right in the middle of the week, and shifting our normal Balance Challenge back a day. However the extra time seemed to have helped some of you…well one of you in particular, but I’d like to think it was the speech above that gave him the courage to pull through!

This is what happens when our Balance Team effectively puts on a complete rout of the Community week-in and week-out. Eventually something’s got to give, and give it did. It may not be a complete change of ways, but you managed to get a win, community, and that has shown light that there is more of the same to come.

Before we get to the excitement, let’s go over a few other matches that took place. Starting off the Challenge, we had Noc154 and Ghostfall from our team set to take on any challengers who thought highly enough of themselves to take down a giant!

In non-dramatic fashion, our Balance Team took down their foes without even breaking so much as a sweat. Below you will see the matchups, and their outcomes. Winners are marked in bold.

Noc154 (W) vs. Orktastic (L)

Noc154 (W) vs. Supe12Na7u12aL (L)

Noc154 (W) vs. ArchiArchmage89 (L)

Ghostfall (W) vs. Conciliaraphid7 (L)

Ghostfall (W) vs. Azadazzu (L)

We even had a special 2v2 match set up, which ended with the same results as above:

Noc154 & Ghostfall (W) vs. Supe12Na7u12aL & Cyp Porto (L)

The silver-lining of this week’s challenge, however, is that for the first time in nearly a month the community has snuck in a win against our Balance Team! WeaklyMammal66 was able to take out Noc154 in a thrilling display to finally give the community a breath of fresh air, and the Challenge Victor tag her received in the forums is well-deserved.

Enjoy the spoils, buddy. I’m sure you’ll be back to the kittens eventually!

I am proud of you all. Even though you only got one win this time, it shows that maybe there is hope after all. We do enjoy, a lot actually, watching you guys and gals take down our Balance Team. At the same time, we don’t want to see you get too comfortable in your ways, so for the July 11th Balance Challenge we are bringing out The Brahma Bull himself, IamMRMILO.

Think you can take us down again…?
