Age of Empires Online

Huh, that’s odd. I thought that would be big news. Oh, have you not heard? It was my understanding that everyone had heard.

If you weren’t around to catch the beginning of our weekly Balance Team Challenge, allow me to drop some knowledge upon thee. We decided to forgo our regular list of challengers to bring a special match between Ghostfall and Noc. The results of this match is somewhat unimportant, the real gem was the new feature we showed off—Observer Mode.

Alright, back to your regularly scheduled write up.

This week we brought IamMRMILO out of his normal job to take you all on. The competitions were fierce, to say the least.

First up we saw Milo take on OrkTastik. Ork is no stranger to the spotlight, having won against our Balance Team before. This time around, though, he wouldn’t be so lucky. Milo took him down in a hard-fought battle, lasting around 18 minutes.

Next up for the community was MamaLosi. He brought out his Greek army to do all he could, but the constant onslaught of Milo was just too tough for him to take, and he would eventually fold.

Following suit, Riqimaru gave it everything he could, and actually put up a darn good fight. Unfortunately about half an hour later he fell to the overwhelming power of Milo’s forces.

This brings us to our final competitor who actually managed to sneak in 2 games this week. Enter TheMistaa (game 1 & game 2) who is widely known as one of, if not the best Age of Empires Online player around. He battled through work and found time for us to put on a show. And that he did. The Mistaa was able to give Milo not one, but two losses during the challenge. Crazy, right? Watching these two do battle is like watching a log-rolling competition. They make it look so easy, but when you actually think about it, their technique is amazingly convoluted. Big props to both of them for giving the crowd such an awesome showing.

Speaking of big props and the crowd, did you see just how many people were watching the reveal yesterday?

That’s right, at its peak there were nearly 1,500 people watching at a time. Even more amazing, there were 100,000 people who watched our channel total during Wednesday’s festivities. Thank you all for coming out and making the Observer Mode reveal such a huge success!
